Art Nouveau French Locket with a basket of flowers

Rare Art Nouveau French Locket with Repousse Motifs on both sides and a framed slidable beveled glass inside.

The locket depicts a basket of flower held by a ribbon, the latter forming a bow at the top of the front side. This is a classical French Art Nouveau motif. It is rare to find a locket with this pattern in such excellent condition and with a beveled glass inside. The back is also decorated with a leaves bundle held by two ribbons.

Details:
The locket is from the 1900s, Art Nouveau era. It is stamped "FIX" at the bale. FIX is a brand that was created in Paris in 1829 by François-Auguste Savard, and refers to a thick, quality 18ct gold plating. Jewelry made of FIX generally show very little sign of wear even after more than 100 years.

Condition:
The locket is in excellent antique condition. I don't see any significant gold plating loss. It closes tightly with a snap. Overall very little sign of wear and no dent.

This listing is for the locket only without a chain.
