Art Deco Guilloché Enamel Locket with hand-painted Roses

Floral Art Deco guilloché enamel Locket.

The front of the locket features an off-white enamel background, onto which three roses are hand-painted.

The back is plain metal with the words "Tilly Bernes" hand-engraved in a beautiful cursive font.

Guilloché enamel is a decorative technique that involves engraving intricate, repeating patterns onto a metal surface, typically using a lathe. The engraved pattern is then covered with translucent enamel, allowing the design to show through, creating a luminous and textured effect.

Details:

The locket dates from the 1920s, Art Deco era. It has no stamp to the metal and I assume it is made of a silver plated metal. On the front and inside the silver plating is intact and on the back it is rubbed off.

The enamel is in good condition with no major loss.

It does have surface wear, please inspect the photos. There are several little dents to the paint, so the surface is not smooth, but this is not very noticeable when worn. The vibrant colors and guilloche work are visually dominant over the surface flaws.

Inside one of the ring is present to hold a photo, the other one is missing.

The locket opens from the top and shuts tight with no issues.

The bail is new, made of silver and stamped 925.

The locket does not come with a chain.
