Victorian Moon & Star Brooch with flat and rose-cut Garnets
Victorian celestial brooch with garnets.
The moon has two rows of garnets, one with approx 3mm diameter flat cut garnets for the largest, and the other one with approx 1.5mm diameter rose-cut garnets. The garnets size decreases gradually towards the end of the moon Crescent.
In addition, a six garnets star I positioned inside the moon crescent.
Details:
The brooch dates from the 19th century. It has no stamp and seems to be made of brass.
Condition:
It is in good antique condition, with some sign of wear.
The brooch closes by means of a C clasp, the needle has a jiggle when it is not secured in the clasp but stays in place once secured.
The brooch seems to be in its original state, I don't see any trace of repair, all garnets appear original.
