Art Nouveau Clover Pendant: Green Gold Ivy Leaves, French FIX Jewelry

Sweet symbolic French Antique pendant.

The pendant depicts both a four-leave clover and ivy leaves, symbol of luck and everlasting love. The ivy leaves are plated in green gold, and the clover in yellow gold.

The nature representation is typical of the French Art Nouveau style.

Details:

The pendant dates from the 1900s, Art Nouveau era. It is stamped with the French hallmark for 18k gold plating "FIX".

"FIX" means the piece is made of "or laminé", which is a high quality type of 18k gold plating. The brand FIX was created in Paris in 1829 by François-Auguste Savard. FIX platings are typically made of 20 to 40microns of 18k gold while nowadays only 3 to 5microns is enough for a jewel to qualify as gold plated. Jewels holding this stamp are therefore robust and meant to last, they often show very little wear, even after 100 years !

Condition:

This pendant is in very good antique condition with some gold plating loss at the back, please inspect the photos.
