19th century Portuguese diamond dangle earrings in 19.2k gold and silver
Wonderful antique Portuguese earrings in 19.2k gold and silver.
The earrings feature 32 rose cut diamonds and are articulated.
The diamonds are set in silver with a traditional Portuguese setting: from the top the prongs look like little beads surrounding the diamonds. The back is made of gold.
The earrings are stamped with the Porto assay hallmarks.
Details:
The earrings date from the 19th century. They are made of 19.2k solid yellow gold and silver.
19.2k corresponds to 80% gold, which is the Portuguese standard.
The hallmark with the animal head and the " II " at the bottom is the Porto hallmark in use from 1887 to 1937.
Each earring bears 4 hallmarks, 2 at the side of the gold setting, and 2 at the back.

The earrings are in excellent antique condition, with gentle surface wear and scratches to the setting, and some natural oxidization to the silver parts. The closing mechanism is in good working order.
